Web Developer

We’re looking for a Web Developer to help us create our next big ideas and take the NTS website into its next phase and beyond. We’re open to hearing from all levels of experience.

FULL-TIME / PART-TIME · LONDON

The advertised position will be embedded in the NTS tech team and work closely with product owners and software engineers to develop web application features for NTS listeners.

We are in the process of creating large and unique features extending the functionality of the NTS web and mobile applications. As well as building upon the existing apps, we are devising and delivering greenfield projects and applications.

Responsibilities include

  • Build web application features, guided by design specifications, using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

  • Contribute with your expertise as we research and expand our offering to our listeners.

  • Research and develop integrations with 3rd party libraries and data sources.

  • Peer review colleagues’ code.

  • Observe and adopt new and emerging technologies in web development.

The ideal candidate should be an eager learner, unafraid of tasks that they may not initially know how to solve, and comfortable asking for and giving help when needed. We’re looking for a problem solver and a creative thinker; someone who enjoys questioning and challenging how modern tech can be used innovatively. Generally speaking, we’re looking for responsible team player.

We’re a small team, and within that is room for original ideas and the real opportunity for those ideas to become the reality during this exciting period for NTS.

Must Have

  • Proven experience in frontend development, with a focus on and passion for CSS.

  • Experience in writing responsive, cross-browser and cross-platform web pages.

  • Experience and confidence with animations and transitions.

  • Comfortable with JavaScript, or at least the basics of.

  • Passion for music and what we do at NTS.

Bonus Points

  • Proficiency and interest in NodeJS and JavaScript libraries, particularly React.
  • Proficiency and interest in Google Analytics and/or Firebase.
  • Experience in agile methodology, and test driven development.
